Security Awareness Audit

This three-part portfolio sample demonstrates my instructional design process across three distinct formats — a hands-on student workbook, a case study with facilitation guide, and an eLearning storyboard — applied to a single, cohesive learning problem: helping HR and People leaders build security awareness programs that change behavior, not just achieve compliance.

The fictional organization, Meridian Health Services, was created specifically for this portfolio. All scenarios, characters, and content are original work drawn from the frameworks and principles in my book The People Solution: From Weakest Link to Strongest Defense (2025).

Why original materials were necessary: The majority of my professional instructional design work was created for HITRUST, where I served as Primary Instructor for the Certified CSF Practitioner (CCSFP) program and delivered Academy training to over 2,000 practitioners globally. That work — including course exercises, case studies, assessments, and training decks — is proprietary to HITRUST and protected by copyright. Reproducing or adapting it for a public portfolio is not permitted.

Rather than display nothing, I did what experienced instructional designers do: I built original work that demonstrates the same competencies. These three documents show my ability to design scenario-based learning, facilitate complex group discussions, and storyboard interactive eLearning — across audiences, formats, and levels of instructional complexity.

The content domain is cybersecurity and human risk, which I have spent fifteen years studying, teaching, and writing about. The instructional design is mine.
